Death on the Nile

I spent a week on a Nile Cruise at the start of July, and although the boat itself certainly was hardly Agatha Christie, I thought I'd dress the part anyway. Here are some of my outfits.




At the temple of Hapshepsut, Thebes.


I dressed for dinner every evening.




Dressed down for a stroll in the Old Cataract Hotel gardens, Aswan - features in Death on the Nile but currently closed for restoration.


Luxor Temple. That white dress is 1920s vintage.


In lady-explorer mode at the pyramids, Cairo.


I'd bought my dad a proper panama for the trip.

Thankyou! It's from Topshop, and it's actually nightwear, but they were having an Egyptian-themed evening on the boat (cue lots of sunburnt, obese brits in belly-dancing gear and tea-towels..) so I threw something Cleopatra/Zita Johann-inspired (in the original "Mummy" with Boris Karloff) together.

October seems to be the best time to go, weather-wise. It was in the mid 40s when I was there, but you should have less swoon-inducing temperatures more in the mid 20s. Can't wait to see your pics!
