hurray for the charleston. i recognized "you're the cream in my coffee", that's my wekness now" and "don't be like that" (the last two apparently sung by helen "boop-boob-a-doop" kane of "i wanna be loved by you" fame.)

"you're the cream in my coffee" was one of lucia joyce's favourite tunes too, by the way; marlene dietrich sang it wonderfully in auditioning for "der blaue engel"; and i own a recording of it by ruth etting (1929).
